There is a lot that I didn't expect this year. The biggest thing that I didn't expect was you, and you seriously have been the best surprise that I could have ever asked for. And in a year where apparently my life is nothing but surprises, you're the best one. These last two months with you have been amazing, and on the risk of sounding "sappy", I'm really glad that you're in my life. Very glad you put in that application, that I went with my gut and asked you for drinks, and very happy with everything that followed (as you know.) It's hard for me to really let anyone in, to be fully truthful with anyone, and yet here I am, pretty much giving you everything that I am. It's scary and it's not something I'm used to doing, but I like how it feels, because I like how it feels with you.

I hope that 2017 gives you everything that you want and more, every happiness that you want for yourself and your daughter, and anything else that you may desire. And, if I'm lucky, maybe I'll be in there somewhere as well.

Merry Christmas, darling. Thank you for making these last two months quite possibly the most exciting and adventurous ones I've had in a very long time -- I can't wait to see where the next months take us.
